Schweizerische Volksbank - Basel, Switzerland - Converted Bank Buildings on Waymarking.com

This was once the headquarter of the Schweizerische Volksbank, I have not found any information about when it was built and when Credit Suisse took over the bank.

But in 1999 the building was renovated and changed into a cultural center called Unternehem Mitte.

There are two coffee shops, a restaurant, a theatre, lots of offices with any kind of social and creative work.

In the center is a big hall with tables and a self-service coffee bar. Here is one of the city's most popular free WiFi hot spots, because the place is large and you don't have to buy anything. The public is mixed, but most are either students (it's cheap), business people over 50 (it's central), and little children under 3 (there's lot of space to run around).
