Late Gothic church of St. Bartholomew in Pardubice was built by Lord Vilém of Pernstejn early in 16th century. The last reconstruction passed in 1912 when the church obtained a richly decorated annex on the western side completed by the architect Dvorak. The metal doors of the main entry are decorated by the heraldic symbols of the Pernstejn's family (bull's head), town of Pardubice (half a horse) and Czech kingdom (lion). Above the doors are mosaics of three Czech patrons - St. Wenceslaw, St. Ludmila and St. Prokop according the design of famous Czech painter Mikolas Ales created by Viktor Foerster.
