Fairway Incinerator - Golden, Colorado - posted by boB B giB

Before there was a golf course here, it was the property of the state boys prison, which is now next door. This was the prison incinerator built around the 1930s and in 2001, designer Jim Engh made it part of the Fossil Trace Golf Club course.

(2/15/2010) Took a walk on the snowy cart path here at Fossil Trace to get a picture of the out-of-place incinerator. Not a golfer in sight! So today it was OK to walk up to the chimney... On busy days one should stick to the path.
