The Baroque stone cross was erected in 1782 and according other dates was in 1862 and 1934 renovated. On the sandstone pedestal of the cross is relief plastic of Saint Florian, the patron saint of firemen. One can imagine that maybe extinguishment of a some big fire of the town before 1782 made local citizens to thank to God by the erecting the cross.
Type of cross: Latin cross
Material used: Stone (granite, sandstone, marble, ...)
Characteristics of this cross: About 4m high sandstone cross - including pedestal. The sandstone pedestal has on the front side relief plastic of Saint Florian and description "Renovated in 1862". On the rear side of the pedestal thera are two dates - 1782 (date of erection of the cross) and 1934 (probably second renovation). The cross is probably made from granite.
Describe the location: The cross is located in the central part of T.G. Masaryk's square in Dasice, small town in East Bohemia. There are four young trees around the cross planted out a few years ago to accentuate the location of the baroque cross.
