This building started life in 1924 as the fire station for Gore, in 1980 it was decommissioned. Since then it has been a youth centre and museum. Today it is a backpackers hostel.

Built in 1924 the Gore Fire Station remained in service until 1980 when it was decommissioned. In 1935 a second floor was added. After it was retired it became a youth centre, then a museum. Today it has been converted into a backpackers accommodation.
