After living in North Carolina, the owner of Blue Ribbon BBQ moved to Boston and was disturbed by the lack of good Southern BBQ restaurants in the area. He set out to bring the flavors of good slow-cooked pork up north. He has succeeded and even the atmosphere of a run-down BBQ shack are maintained in this street-side establishment. Don't expect fancy utensils or plates, everything comes in styrofoam and there's little room for eat-in. What you lack in space, you make up for in flavor. Everything is good, down to the sides like collard greens, black-eyed peas and corn, and dirty rice. For a little Southern comfort, you don't have to go any farther than Newton when you're stuck in Boston.
