In these place was between 1895-1963 mineral oil refinery with name Apollo. When the company was on the top of the bussines she had a lot of petroleum fields, ships and fuel points in Europe. Company was a target of americans aircraft till end of the second world war.
This table is tribute to these Bratislava's people which died here. Apollo bridge where the table is located is named according this rafinery and to the tribute of victims.

Rafineriu, svojho casu jednu z najvacsich v Europe, postavili v roku 1895. Pracovalo tu vyse patsto ludi. V case svojho najvacsieho rozmachu v medzivojnovom obdobi vlastnila tovaren ropne polia, tankove lode, cisternovy park a siet cerpacich stanic. Pocas druhej svetovej vojny zaclenili vyrobne spolocnosti Apollo do nemeckeho koncernu I. G. Farben. Na sklonku vojny sa tovaren stala strategickym cielom spojeneckych bombarderov. V juni 1944 znicili americke lietadla 80 percent rafinerie, o zivot prisli stovky robotnikov. Ropne produkty sa tu vyrabali aj po vojne, ale nikdy uz nie v predvojnovom rozsahu. Fabrika definitivne ukoncila svoju cinnost v roku 1963. Tento most bol pomenovany na ich pamiatku.
