Built for the centennial of the founding of Invercargill, the Steans Centennial Winter Garden is used by the Invercargill City Council Parks Division to grow plants during the cooler weather. Rather than being closed the public is welcome to come in.

This extensive winter garden is kept open to the public to appreciate tropical plants while the ICC Parks Division uses it to grow plants during the cooler weather to provide amazing plantings in plots throughout the city.
