The sign reads "J. KNECHT - BLACKSMITHING". Just above the name is "1928". J. Knecht was a German who also sold J.I. Case equipment and was the Chevrolet dealer. The building stands just a bit north on Sextant Street, up from Railway Avenue, Aneroid, Sask.
