Museum of Glass (Sklárské muzeum) in Nový Bor, one of the oldest Museums of Glass in Europe, was opened for public in 1893. Originates from local glassmaking workers's efforts to preserve some of the exhibits of local glass artwork in a place of its origin.
Permanent exhibition shows the development of glassmaking from XVIIth century, particularly paintings and engravings, including the exhibits of old workshops and models of glassworks. In the museum shop is possible to buy copies of historical glass, traditional glass costume jewellery and special literature devoted to glass.
