Windmill at Castro Marim, Portugal - Windmills on Waymarking.com

Castro Marim is dominated by the old fortress guarding the border at the mouth of the Rio Guadiana. The town is an attractive example of normal life on the Algarve Coast. Recently a museum and cultural centre was built on the edge of town looking out to the river, Spain and the Atlantic Ocean. The centerpieces for the musem are the old windmill and church. Both have been restored as picturesque examples of small town life. We were there in early December and the museum was closed. The weather was ideal for touring the fortress and the town, enjoying the photo opportunities.
