An easy scenic way over the Luberon ridge passes the village of Montfuron. We walked into the village and were rewarded by a pleasant Provençal village, a sundial, windmill and wind rose. The old windmill has been restored and is opened during the tourist season, grinding grain to flour. It was closed when we visited in October. The mill remains an excellent example of the use of wind power to grind grain for food, an important asset for any village. The mill has endured the 32 winds of Provence for many centuries.
