Visible from the town square of Montfuron, Provence is a simple sundial dated 1794 dedicated to St Antonius. We found it. Thank you, St Anthony the patron saint of finding things.

An easy scenic way over the Luberon ridge passes the village of Montfuron. We walked in and were rewarded by a pleasant Provençal village, a sundial, windmill and wind rose. The simple but well crafted sundial is a a vertical declining sundial, carved in stone and mounted on a prominent building on the town square. The date is MDCCXCIV, the start of the Napoleon's Empire. The dedication is to St Antonius. The condition of the sundial is too good to have been exposed for over 200 years but it is an excellent sundial, even if it is a modern reproduction.
Sundial Type: Vertical - Wall mounted dial plate
