Die Blumenwiese ist ein 200m² großes Wandgemälde von Friedel Deventer an einem Wohnhaus der Firma Straube, das in Zusammenarbeit mit der Kasseler Sparkasse entstanden ist.
Es wurde 1983 geschaffen und erfreut seither die Autofahrer der Holländischen Straße stadteinwärts. In 2006 bekam das Haus eine neue Wärmedämmung und so wurde dabei das Gemälde erneuert.
Sogar Schulklassen haben schon Biologieunterricht dort erhalten, für Stadtkinder ist es schwer, Wildblumen am natürlichen Standort zu sehen.
The wild flower meadow is a 200 square meter large mural by Friedel Deventer. It is situated on a residential house of the Straube Company, who together with the bank Kasseler Sparkasse commissioned the artwork.
First painted in 1983 it cheers drivers on the B7, Holländische Straße direction inner city. In 2006 the house was renovated and got a new insulation. Therefor the painting needed to be repainted onto the new plaster surface.
Even school classes are tought biology in front of this mural, city children have a hard time observing wild flowers in their natural habitat.
