The town of Bunbury lies ~175kms south of the state capital of Perth. It is a prosperous town, servicing the surrounding agricultural regions, and it is also a popular tourist destination.
The town council building was dedicated in the year 1897 by the prominent Premier of Western Australia, Sir John Forrest (who had been born in Bunbury). The building still stands, and is still in use.
