We noticed this mural on our drive thru Costa Rica, near Monte Verde.
The town lies on the banks of the Abangares River and the full name of the town in Las Juntas de Abangares. This was once considered the gold-mining center of Costa Rica. While the mines were most active from 1884 to 1931, they are still actively being mined today, both underground and open pit mines. The town is located in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica.
