Founded in 1992, Zetetic Institute is a non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of scientific research, education, and technology development and transfer.
According to its website, Zetetic Institute conducts research in a variety of areas such as acousto-optical modulation, precision metrology, high speed imaging using confocal microscopy, high speed imaging with sub-optical wavelength resolution, medical instrumentation, optical data storage, and lithography. This research has lead to a number of U.S. patent applications, of which 92 have issued and approximately 60 are pending.
Among the facilities at the Institute are clean rooms, optical coating facilities and surface metrology facilities.
Zetetic Institute also works with the University of Arizona and Pima Community College on an educational level, with several graduate students from the University of Arizona completing research for their Ph.D. dissertations at Zetetic Institute.
