Ronald McDonald House exists to provide a home-away-from-home for families who have traveled to Tucson seeking medical treatment for their children. More than just a place to sleep, Ronald McDonald House provides a warm, safe, and comfortable home-like environment for families who are caring for seriously ill children.
The families staying in one of the 28 rooms have all been referred to Ronald MacDonald House by a social worker, doctor, or nurse at the hospital where they will be seen.
There is a isolation Wing which includes 12 rooms is available for families of children undergoing bone marrow or stem cell transplant or organ transplant.
They also have a Ronald McDonald Family Room at University Medical Center right inside the hospital. The family room includes:
A living room where families can relax
A small kitchen and dining area
A quiet room with recliners for resting
Computer access as well as medical reference book
