The LSU Rural Life Museum is a mock up of a working Plantation and consists of a complex of 19th century buildings - commissary, overseer's house, kitchen, slave cabins, sick house, schoolhouse, blacksmith's shop, sugar house, and grist mill - authentically furnished to replicate all the major activities of life on a typical 19th century working plantation. "The Barn" houses artifacts donated by local south Louisiana Plantations and individuals. The Barn is divided into different "areas" and the slavery wing is one of these areas, and is where the pillory is located. Great visit, highly recommended.
