This building was the home of the famous humanist Erasmus of Rotterdam for his last year in 1536, where he lived as guest in the house of the publisher Hieronymus Froben.
The book shop Erasmus house started here in 1800, originally as a publishing and printing company, the used book store came a little later. This shop is specialized in very old and expensive books. If you want a bargain entertainment, this is not the place for you; but if you like to spend more money for an old book than others would for a new car, here you can probably find it.
