Tajo Ostrich not only farms several thousand ostrich but also provides a selection of day tour and educational packages. According to their website this is like a visit to a modern day Jurassic Park. You can take a ride on the specially designed passenger trailer and learn about the process of breeding, from eggs to hatching to fully grown adult bird. You will see chicks hatching and incubating, try to stand on an egg, and try your hand at feeding full grown ostriches!
Some Fascinating Ostrich Facts.
This is a wonderful opportunity to study these beautiful birds close-up in a natural environment, roaming free in large open farm paddocks, not caged in wire.
As well as Farm Tours, there is also a Farm Shop selling produce.

Waymark Owners comment: At last we have found a category to enter this fascinating place in, thanks for accepting it. We thought it would be of interest to the bird watchers category, but they turned it down on the grounds these birds weren't being preserved. In fact they are wrong, very wrong, Ostrich farming is a way of protecting this species, and they will never die out or disappear while they are being breed selectively to produce the very best quality bird of this species. These beautiful birds are a sight to behold, running across to greet us at the fence. Well worth the trip for bird watchers who won't get the chance to see these birds anywhere else.
