This traditional Vienna's coffee house is located in the 6th district just outside the city centre, between the Naschmarkt and the MuseumsQuartier.

Cafe Sperl was opened 1880 by Jakob Ronacher and was bought in December 1880 by the family Sperl (it is owned by Manfred Staub since 1968). At the fin de siècle it was a popular meeting place for artists and K.K. officers.

Today the interior is original to its 19th century inception. The Viennese rate this cafe as one of the few 'genuine' coffee houses in Vienna. The coffee house has a faithful clientele, including many young people who come here for various events and billiard tables.
