This Zarbula sundial is along the old highway to Italy, just past the bridge at Place de Fontaine. The dial has changed over time. The original motto was "O soleil tu parais, tu souris, tu consoles la terre" (O sun you look, you smile, you console the earth) was changed when the dial was repainted in 1954 with the motto in Provencal patois " La vita, es gaieo un ris, un souffle, un pleur" (Life is not much, a laugh, a sigh, a tear). The dial was restored in 1994 by Evelynne and Norbert Peyrot but the only Zarbula style element remaining is the exotic bird.
