Description of the Hejnice flag: the flag is divided into two vertical stripes (a and b) proportioned 1:2. a) Two horizontal stripes proportioned 3:2; on red is a white Basilica of Hejnice and on green are three cornears. b) Three horizontal stripes of blue and yellow, proportioned 2:1:2; on blue is a white spruce separated by the yellow stripe and on yellow is a black cogwheel.
The town of Hejnice lies on the northern slopes of the Jizera Mountains at an altitude of 375 m above sea level. The main flow of water here is the River Smedá. The majority of the area is part of the protected landscape of the Jizera Mts. The existence of Hejnice has always been closely linked to its pilgrimage church, which dates back to 1211 if legend is to be believed. The village of Hejnice was granted town status on 31st July 1917. It fulfils the role of an industrial and agricultural centre and a starting point for tourists, offering public transport connections.
