This red brick school was built in 1883 and was located just up the road about a quarter mile or so. It continued to serve as a school up until 1963. Many Michigan children attended one-room schools as late as the middle of the 20th century.
The Stanley School was relocated in 1975.
No idea who Sherman Stanley was.
