On Castle Island Reservation in the South Boston neighborhood of Boston, stands a monument to Robert M. Greene, who was a firefighter who was killed in the line of duty.
To get to the monument, from William J. Day Boulevard, travel east to the end and park at the parking lot. Take the path south, keeping the fort on the left. The memorial will appear on the right, before you reach the edge of the harbor.
The monument is a stone pillar with a bronze bust of a likeness of the firefighter. On the pillar are the following:

The monument is surrounded by hedges and a fence with a gate. To the left of the gate is a marker, in fair condition, that explains a little more about Robert Greene. He received a high commendation and a commendation from duty during two separate fires in 1975.
