This metal sculpture is twenty feet tall an sits on a cement base that is almost fourteen feet square. It weighs 10 tons. The artist has signed the bottom of the sculpture "Rita Deanin Abbey 1993 ©.
The SAI page states that, "Symbolically, the tower is a guardian of nature, knowledge, enlightenment, and mankind's achievements. The spirit is that of the search, the struggle of the process to become the best humanity can be."
The sculpture, Rita Deanin Abbey, was one of the four original faculty members of the Department of Art at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is known for her abstract paintings, landscapes and sculptures.

DIFFERENCES NOTED BETWEEN THE INVENTORY LISTING AND YOUR OBSERVATIONS AND RESEARCH:
In January 1994 it was noted to be well maintained. It's now showing some signs of age. Some names have been scratched into the rust near the bottom of the sculpture.
