The website at (
visit link) tells us:
"The castle
The central building of Chalupki village (former part of Bohumín city) was always the castle that initially fulfilled a strictly defensive function and was surrounded by a moat. The first information about the castle comes from 1373, when Duke Jan Opolski gave it to Knight Pasko (the village at that time carried the name Annaberg). From 1623 to 1803 the castle and the town of Bogumín located on the other side of the Odra River belonged to the Henckel von Donnersmarck family. The castle altered its face and owners many times. Its present, baroque design comes from the turn of 18th and 19th century. During 1844 – 1936 it belonged to the well-known in Europe bank owners family – the Rotschilds. In 1936, Hitler confiscated the castle from them and, together with the adjoining property, gave it to a widow after a German baron – baroness Rotkirch von Kirchen und Pancken. She owned the property until 1945."
