The town of Pattaya is an internationally famous (and justifiably so) resort and recreation locale, situated 100kms plus to the south east of Bangkok. A great place.

One of its many attractions is Pattaya hill, which is a park replete with Buddhist and nationalistic tourist sites. One of these is a replica of a famous bell, the original of which is to be found in Beijing. The original is a Ming dynasty bell, which weighs 990 kgs, and is 157cm high (details on a sign, a pic of which is in the gallery). The Pattaya bell is on public display, and visitors are welcome to whack the bell with the adjacent wooden pole.

If you are fortunate enough to find yourself in Pattaya, the Hill is worth a visit.
