A magnificent example of 19th century civic architecture, the Library building and main entrance is set well back from Swanston Street amidst landscaped gardens and lawns.
Today, 11 February 2006, is the State Library of Victoria's 150th anniversary, so there is no more appropriate time to acknowledge the occasion by recognising it as a Waymark!
Friends of killerbunnies have been seen singing Christmas carols on the forecourt of this libray. The dome of the library's reading room (as seen in the photo above) holds a special place in Mr killerbunnies' family history, as his grandfather was a glazier installing the original lead-lighting in the ceiling. Recent refurbishments have seen these windows replaced, but nonetheless the killerbunnies now enjoy a magnificent view of the dome.
Be sure to visit the State Library of Victoria, and don't miss the spectactular reading room and art collection upstairs!
