The website at (

"On this place stood a very famous pub named “U modrého lva” (“the Blue lion”), built in year 1243. Until its demolition in 1934 it was without any doubt the oldest pub in Brno.
The pub provided much needed refreshing after difficult wading of the nearby Svratka river. Its popularity didn't decrease even after a wooden bridge over Svratka was built in the first half of the 14th century, not even after upgrading the bridge to a stone one in 1372.
In the year 1934 the building was demolished due to its bad state and on its place a post office and an apartment building were built. The only thing that commemorates this very interesting and important building is the blue lion mosaic on the post office building. It was made by painter and sculptor Milan Klvana. "
