Launceston airport is the second largest airport in the state of Tasmania and is located 15 kilometres south of the the city centre.
According to Wikipedia, it is currently Australia's 12th busiest airport, handling over 1.1 million passengers in 2008.
The airport services flights for Australia's four main airlines - Qantas, Virgin Blue, Jetstar and Tiger - as well as several smaller operators.
Renovations to the airport were completed in 2009 to accommodate the growing number of passengers passing through.
