"The Fulford Harbour Petroglyph
This indian rock carving of a seal was found at Fulford Harbour on the shoreline opposite the ferry wharf.
Fulford Harbour was once inhabited by the T'sawout Indian Tribe and was used by all the Saanich Indian Peoplre for their traditional way of fishing and hunting.
All Petroglyphs and archaeological sites are protected by British Columbia statutes. They are unique examples of the Indian culture and heritage and deserve preservation and protection.

According to Saanich legend, the seal represents a woman who was transformed into a rock to protect her people's surrounding territory.
