Being considered by many as Oporto's ex-libris, this bell tower, part of the Clérgios Church, was built between 1731 and 1763 and is considered the magnum opus of baroque architecture in this city. The italian architect Nicolau Nasoni was responsible for its project. It's classified as a National Monument since 1910 and is part of Oporto's Historic Centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
