Smedava Mt. (1084 m) is located in side-headland of Hejnice-range of Jizera Mountains (Jizerské hory). This hill has got its name according to Smedá river, which has one of its sources in peat-bogs under its southern slope. At the foot of the hill (at 847 m), you will find the mountain-enclave and chalet-hotel Smedava. And here is also placed the depicted helipad...

New helipad serves as emergency helipad for helicopters of public Air Rescue Service (Letecká Záchranná Služba - LZS in Czech), which can land here. Area is very popular among tourists - in summer on MTBs and in winter on ski, so fast emergency service is often needful here...
