This statue is located in a park contains a small boardwalk which provides a nice area to walk along the water. Names of fisherman who did not return from sea are memorialized on small plaques on the railing around the statue.
A dedication plaque for the park located at the entrance reads:

Dedicated to the memory of Councilman Thomas F.K. Loughran, a strong advocate of the publics right of free access to the waterfront.

Acquired from the Federal Government to be used as a public park in perpetuity.


The names of the Mayor & Councilmembers are listed, along with the dedication date of September 19, 1989.

Also listed is the phrase "A great place to wet a line".
