Long sections of touristic paths next to the Shirenzhai village in Zhangshiyan Scenic Area are boardwalks, mostly from wooden boards, rarely from narrow stone slabs. Reason of boardwalk's using here is simple - the valley part of path is going through wetlands and fields in proximity of several creeks, which are flooding the area during rainy season...


Zhangshiyan Scenic Area is located in southwest of Zanhuang County town and is 100 km away from Shijiazhuang City, the capital of Hebei. The are is in the middle of the Taihangshan Mountain, close to the Shirenzhai village. Zhangshiyan is a national scenic spot and a national geological park, and has become a pearl of tourism among the numerous scenic spots and resorts in north China. Huge rocks and sheer cliffs are characteristic of the scenic spot.
