They are there every year. You can't miss the display in the 10 acre strip of land located just east of Fort Garland. Traveling along Hwy 160 just look to the south and the brilliant yellow swath will just jump out at you.

If you exit Hwy 160 on to south bound Miranda Ave then take the next left on to Ice House Road you will be traveling right next to this beautiful field of Alpine Buttercups. You can park anywhere along road as it does not see much traffic except during Veterans Day.



After visiting and admiring the flowers drive another 1200 feet and you can stop or turn around in the parking area of the Costilla County Veterans Memorial Park. Oh yea there are two other waymarks here and a Geocache. Might as well stop to visit the park and log some more visits and a cache find.
