The Interstate 74 Bridge consists of two suspension bridges crossing the Mississippi River and connects Bettendorf, Iowa and Moline, Illinois.

The first span (currently the northbound lanes of Interstate 74) was constructed as Works Project Administration project in 1935 and opened as a toll bridge. It was named the "Iowa-Illinois Memorial Bridge" to honor World War I veterans.

In 1959 an identical twin span (the southbound lanes of Interstate 74) was added to satisfy increased traffic volumes.

The bridges were were upgraded between 1971 and 1975 to handle the expected traffic when it was to be come Interstate 74.

Do not attempt to photograph this waymark while on the Interstate 74 or the bridge. There are no shoulders to pull over or facilities for pedestrians.
