Coldstream Airport - Airports on Waymarking.com

Coldstream is a small country airfield located in the beautiful Yarra Valley, approximately 23 nm NE of the City of Melbourne. It is typical of many country strips throughout Australia, with its gravel strip and light traffic but is conveniently close to primary and GAAP airports for more advanced training.

The killerbunnies passed over Coldstream Airport in February 2006 under relatively unusual circumstances - in a hot air balloon! We took some spectaular photos of the Yarra Valley during our trip, and when the pilot announced that he was going to attempt to land at the Airport, we couldn't help but ensure that we could make a Waymark from the experience. Unfortunately we didn't end up landing at the airport due to unusual low-altitude winds, but it still made for some great views during our approach.
