En el extremo más meridional de la cordillera andina, al nordeste de la ciudad de Ushuaia, la famosa ruta 3 que une el Parque Nacional de Tierra del Fuego con la capital, Buenos Aires, a 3.000 km de distancia, y que enlaza con la ruta panamericana, supera este puerto ofreciendo un panorama espléndido del bello Lago Escondido. Es un recorrido muy frecuentado pues está incluído en la visita turística a los lagos Escondido y Fagnano, además de a la cercana estación invernal de Cerro Castor.

In the southernmost tip of the Andes Mountains, northeast of the city of Ushuaia, the famous Route 3 connecting the National Park Tierra del Fuego to the capital, Buenos Aires, at 3,000 km distance, and linking with the route Pan, exceeds this port and do see splendid panorama of the beautiful Lake Escondido. It is a much frequented route because it is included in the tourist visit to the lakes Escondido and Fagnano, in addition to the nearby winter resort of Cerro Castor.
