The station of Locarno is in fact despite its name located on the soil of neighbouring Muralto.
It is a combination of two terminal stations; the FFS line heads East towards Bellinzona and the narrow-gauge line of the FART starts underground through Locarno and the Centovalli towards Italian Domodossola in the North-West.
