EN: The parish church dei Santi Pietro e Paolo is located in the center of Ascona, the tall, slender tower is one of the landmarks of town.
A church on the site, originally dedicated only to Peter was first mentioned in 1264, but there are no remains of this old building. The present form of the church dates mainly from an expansion in 1599 by Giovanni Beretta and modifications from the 18th century.
DE: Die Pfarrkirche dei santi Pietro e Paolo befindet sich im Ortskern von Ascona, der hohe, schlanke Kirchturm ist eines der Wahrzeichen von Ascona.
Eine Kirche an dieser Stelle, ursprünglich nur Petrus geweiht, wurde erstmals 1264 erwähnt, es existieren aber keine Überreste dieses Vorgängerbaus. Die heutige Form der Kirche stammt vorwiegend aus einer Erweiterung 1599 von Giovanni Beretta und Modifikationen aus dem 18. Jahrhundert.
