The holiday community of Jack's Bay has a row of cribs (South Island Kiwispeak for holiday homes) lined up to watch the rollers come in from the Pacific Ocean. Looking across the bay waves hit the South Otago headlands crashing 15 to 20 feet.
The beach is sandy and a lot of fun walking along to hear the roar of the ocean.
You can even watch the breakers from your car in the carpark.
