I found no information on Melissa Urie.
Headstons Reads 1842 - 1943

Melissa would have seen the US Civil War, the Indian Wars, the Spanish-American War, World War I, the Great Depression, and the first part of World War II. When she was born, travel was by horseback or wagon - trains were just being developed. Telegraph was just being developed. Boats and ships were mainly sail powered, but steam was being used.

She would have seen the development of cars and planes, but not jets. Radios would have vacuum tubes and there would have been very limited television. Telephones would have an operator or rotary dial.
