The stadium was opened in 1928 and hosts the Bundesliga football club 1. FC Nuremberg which won its last titel in 2007 (DFB cup). It also hosts matches of the German national team from time to time and was a major stadium during the FIFA Football World Cup in 2006.
The stadium has space enough for about 47,000 visitors. It's also a track and field stadium as you can see in the pictures (runfield next to the pitch).
The stadium is said to be one of the most beautiful arenas of Germany and has been built out several times. There is almost no spot where you don't have a very good view on the field.
It's definitely worth coming here watching a match. The atmosphere is spectacular.
