The rail line was officially closed in 1995. It was then operated by the Limestone Coast Railway until 2006, when rising cost and regulatory requirements caused the closure of the Tourist railway.
The roundhouse, turntable & rolling stock within are still owned by the disbanded LCR and are being disposed of in a wind up of the society.
