This sign states:
45th parallel of latitude
halfway between the Equator and North Pole

This sign was formerly located about a mile south of this area but the National Park Service moved it to this site to ease congestion at the prior location. This location is closer to the actual 45th parallel of latitude than where the sign was originally located.
