The oldest tomb stone at the local Jewish graveyard is dated 1610. But number of Jewish inhabitants in town descended and in 1934 last four Jewish families with 15 members lived in Stare mesto and left for the inland after the borderland started to be occupied by German Reich. The arrival of the Nazzis brought damage to the graveyard. Today the major part of tomb stones is mended and raised.
