The milestone was removed from its location alongside the old A38 whilst the new Dobwalls bypass was constructed. The contractors refurbished the milestone and replaced it as near as possible to its original location. It is protected from damage from vehicles by being placed behind the crash barrier.
I understand this is the only surviving original 1769 Liskeard Trust milestone on the A38. This make the milestone quite important. The milestone records the following- Liskeard 2 1/2 Miles, Lostwithiel 9 miles.
Condition: Immaculate

Date placed: 01/01/1769

Material: Stone

Inscription:
LISKd 21/2 LOSTW 9

Name of road: Former route of A38
